INTRODUCTION AND DISCLAIMER:
I have been restoring old radios for many years and have accumulated a considerable amount of "stuff" over all those years. But Father Time is winning the battle of years and now it's time to hang up the old soldering iron and do some serious retiring! For that reason, everything in my shop is for sale.
The radios offered here have not been “restored” and are not being offered as such. Rather, they are radios waiting to be restored to collector standards.
Most of them work; some do not. I have tried to be honest as to their condition. However, when I say a radio "works," that does not mean it works like new. It may need a filter condenser or other repair. But the fact that it “works” tells the buyer it is likely to be all there, thus restorable.
Under the "condition" column I sometimes say, "unknown." That does not mean the radio does not work; it means what it says; condition unknown. (Possibly the power cord is frayed and I couldn’t plug it in safely so I just marked it condition unknown.)
If you find something you like, make an offer; chances are I'll take it as my purpose here is to move these items out - not necessarily for the top dollar.
In case anyone is interested, I have been a radio geek since my high school days. Later, I graduated from De Vry Technical Institute in Chicago. I also taught radio repair at The US Army’s Southeastern Signal School at Camp Gordon (Augusta), Georgia and worked as a radio-TV repairman in the 50s and 60s to put myself through College.
I’ve been involved in the broadcasting end of the business for many years as well.
I hope you get as much enjoyment from these old radios as I have.
